Assistant Ensemble Director
Ethan Munger is a freelance music educator and performer based in Fort Worth, Texas. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Euphonium Performance from Texas Tech University, where he studied with Dr. Kevin Wass. While attending Texas Tech, Ethan was a semi-finalist in the National Trumpet Competition, finalist in the South Central Regional Tuba Euphonium Association Competition, and a semi-finalist in the prestigious Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Competition. He was also an active member of many musical ensembles around Texas Tech, including the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, which performed at the 2017 Texas Music Educators Association Convention. His marching arts career started at Keller High School, under the direction of Mark McGahey, and lead him to perform with the Santa Clara Vanguard from 2011 through 2015 - where he aged out as Horn Sergeant and featured soloist. As an instructor he has had the privilege of serving on the Brass Staff at the Blue Knights and Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. He has been an active music and visual instructor for several high school bands across Texas, including the 2017 Marcus High School Band. He is beyond excited to be a part of the Orion Winds team, and looks forward to helping create an innovative, educational, and musically fulfilling experience.
