Lizzie Rivera is a native texan, originally born in Round Rock, TX. After moving to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Lizzie attended John H. Guyer High School. She served as clarinet section leader and drum major for the Wildcat Band for two years.
Currently, she resides in Arlington, TX and attends the University of Texas at Arlington, majoring in Music Education. Lizzie is currently in the clarinet studio and clarinet choir under Dr. Cheyenne Cruz. Lizzie has also been an active member of the Maverick Marching Band where she has previously served as clarinet section leader and drum major. She is currently serving as an Undergraduate Staff Member for the 2019-2020 year.
This past summer, Lizzie served as the field assistant for The Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. She was also a member of the inaugural cast of Orion Winds playing clarinet; she was also featured in the woodwind quartet during their field production, “Elevate”.
Outside of her studies, Lizzie currently serves as a field technician at McKinney North High School marching band and previously at John H. Guyer High School marching band. She previously has performed with the Lone Star Youth Winds for the 2015-2016 season under the direction of Mr. Frank Troyka and Mr. Bobby Francis.
Lizzie’s professional affiliations include Tau Beta Sigma: Gamma Nu Chapter, Collegiate Texas Music Educators, and Texas Music Educators Association.
